Benchmark Training for the Summer and Fall is free to all.  A more casual atmosphere and three social yet tough runs per week.

Coach Jay Christensen is leading the groups that meet on Monday/Thursday/Saturday.

Monday 6pm Shoreline Park, flat recovery runs, social and short, 3-4 miles.

Thursday 6pm Camels Back Park, Trail Runs, Hill Workouts, 4-8 miles

Saturday 8am Double Tree Club Hotel, Long greenbelt shady runs.

Dry Creek Half Marathon

Course Description

Half Marathon

The course starts and finishes near the Merc in the town square of Hidden Springs.  The race starts next to the fire house and travels down the back roads of the subdivision to almost  an immediate hill climb, and then follows the ridges of the foothills South of town.  The first major descent takes you back to the road.  Once on the road it opens up for another hill climb to the foothills once again on the North side of town.  The trail makes it’s way through some very challenging rolling peaks finally to hook back up with the road that will take you on a scenic tour back through town, to the finish.

The race would have to be described as challenging, but full of beautiful desert scenery.  The Hidden Springs Community is the perfect back drop for this soon to be local “must run” event.

Come Join us for the fifth year of this event.  The course will be beautiful, and the park like setting for the race finish will be exciting for spectators and racers alike.

Pasta Feed Dinner (Friday)

Pasta Buffet and music on Friday evening April 2nd.   The Merc at Hidden Springs will have a very popular entertainer that night, Tom Taylor.    Come out and mingle with the Hidden Springs residents, carbo load, and listen to some good music with an adult beverage, at the Merc.

Breakfast Buffet (Saturday 9a-1p)

The Merc will also be open for a Breakfast Buffett on Saturday 9 to 1, this will be perfect for race spectators or those who want a little more than the post race wrap.

Awards will be given to the top five overall Male and Female Finishers.

Prizes will be awarded during the awards celebration

If the technical fabric shirts are made in time, they will be available at the Packet Pick-up Wednesday.  If they are late for any reason they will be passed out post race to pre-registered participants first.  Late registrants and day of registration people are not guaranteed a shirt at the finish and may have to pick their shirt up at a later date.

All races are non-refundable, non-transferable.  The City Of Trees Marathon Association Inc has the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason

High Desert Trail Run (10K)

Course Description

10K Trail Run

This unique desert run will develop into one that you want to do over and over again.  There are some nice but challenging hills, along with some flat range trail running.  Come run the desert and take in it’s unique beauty.  The course has many vistas, including some magnificent views into Melba, Nampa, Lake Lowell, Meridian, Eagle, The Squaw Butte in Emmett, and a wonderful panoramic view of Boise and the surrounding foothills.  The race starts at 10am from the third parking lot of the Birds Of Prey area.  The trail consists of mostly double track, jeep, and ATV trail.  Slicker’s Loop (at about mile two), takes you on a short and steep little hill climb, followed by a 2 mile range loop where you can see into Melba and parts of the Snake River.  At mile four it’s North to the less than one mile ridge run where all of Ada County comes into view, and then it’s a down hill finish  (Slightly over a mile).

The race would have to be described as challenging, but full of beautiful desert scenery, with the Snake River Birds of Prey area as the back drop.  Footwear, You ask??  Racing Flats are not recommended for this race, there are plenty of lava rocks in the Idaho Desert to ensure that you must ensure proper footing.  Speaking of footing, word has it we will be started by a horse and rider this year, a real cowboy western experience, bring your cameras, and spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
